The Fox Edges Splicing Needle is a small tool for putting neat loops into leadcore or 30lb Submerge leaders. A hinged gate on the needle closes around the fibres as you work, so they are held in place and do not snag while you splice.
The shaft is made from very thin stainless steel. Fox also states that this makes it suitable for hair rigging small, soft baits without splitting or tearing them. It suits anglers who tie their own leaders and rigs and want one needle for both jobs.
