The Basix Wide Gape is a general-purpose carp hook with a wide gape shape based on Korda's original Wide Gape pattern. It has an in-turned eye that helps the hook turn and take hold in the mouth, so it can go straight onto the line for bottom baits, pop-ups or wafters without extra kickers or shrink tube.
It is made from Korda's 'X' gauge wire and has a black nickel finish. The point is built to last and may land more than one fish, but check it is still sharp after every cast and change the hook if it is not. This is the barbless version, sold in sizes 2, 4, 6 and 8, with ten hooks in each packet. It suits anglers who want one simple hook for a range of rigs, in the UK or abroad.
