The Korda Longshank Beaked is a barbed carp hook based on Dan Fraser's long-running Longshank pattern, with two changes: a beaked point and a more strongly in-turned eye. According to Korda, testing with the beaked point gave more secure hook holds and a better ratio of hooked fish to landed fish.
The eye is in-turned at 40 degrees, up from 20 degrees on the original, to help the hook turn and flip in the fish's mouth. The hook is forged from a heavier wire gauge for strength and has a PTFE coating. It suits anglers who already use the Longshank shape and want to try the beaked point. Sizes 2, 4, 6 and 8 are available, with ten hooks in each pack.
