These are barbless carp hooks in the Wide Gape pattern. The wire is slightly heavier than on the standard Wide Gape, matching the Wide Gape X. With no barb to slow penetration, the thicker wire helps the hook stay in once set. Korda made only the in-turned point version barbless, as the hook has to turn out the way it went in to come free.
The hook has a beaked point, a medium shank and a 15º in-turned eye, with a low-visibility Teflon coating. It suits anglers fishing barbless, whether by choice or because the venue requires it. Available in sizes 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10, with 10 hooks in each pack.
