The Nash Scope GTL 8000 is a big pit reel that pairs a long, tapered casting spool with the saltwater-standard build used across the Scope range. It has a slow oscillation line lay, which Nash says gives low friction line release for casting, and it holds a generous amount of line.
It suits anglers fishing long range, and those who put rigs out by boat. It works with 12 and 13ft rods as well as shorter 9 and 10ft Scope and Dwarf models. The reel weighs 660g and has a 4.3:1 gear ratio, a 20kg maximum drag and a 96cm retrieve per handle turn. A spool reducer is also covered in the line capacity figures.
